Beak trimming is best left to a vet as it can be very painful for the bird. The beak is a very sensitive part of the body and if a trim goes wrong it can interfere with eating and end up killing the bird. Also overgrown beaks can be a sign of some illinesses so it is a good idea to have a vet check.|||A parrot should never have an overgrown beak. In the wild these birds chew to shave down their beak.
Take your bird to a vet to have the overgrown beak addressed. The vet can file it down so that the bird doesn't starve. Then get a pumus rock to hang in your cage.
A Pumus rock is the same rock ladies use to sand down rough skin on their feet. You bird would love to chew on that and it will help keep their beak in top shape.
Most of the time they are hung from the side of the cage like a cuttlebone or are part of a bird toy. Check with your local pet store that specializes in birds.|||if you are confident you can do this by using nail clippers and cutting off small bits at a time and returning the beak to its original shape it is important to get the beak shape as close to original shape as they use the beak to crack there seed.|||this is a vets job i would not try to do this myself it may go very wrong|||a vet
